1. What are required documents for opening a bank account?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

You need to have Passport<\/em><\/strong> and Alien Resident Certificate<\/em><\/strong> or Record of ID No. <\/em><\/strong>in Taiwan to open a bank account at any of the banks in Taiwan.\u00a0According to Taiwan governmental regulations, opening a banking account requires two valid photo identity cards.\u00a0 \u00a0A foreign passport holder has to prepare\u00a0Passport and ARC card or record of ID Number in Taiwan.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. How to activate my TaipeiFubon bank card? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

When you receive the card, you must change the original PIN to a new one in order to activate the bank card. There are two PINs. One is IC (Chip) PIN (6 digits, new PIN can be<\/strong>\u00a0within 6-12 digits)<\/strong>;\u00a0the other is ATM (Magnetic Strip) PIN (4 digits).\u00a0You need\u00a0to\u00a0change both of these PINs.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

YOU MUST KNOW:For security reasons, every IC bank card in Taiwan has a IC chip pin of\u00a0\u00a0at least 6 digits to reduce fraud. To activate the function of withdrawing money in other countries,<\/span><\/p>\n

the magnetic strip\u00a0pin\u00a0needs to be set\u00a0to a 4 digit one. Ask a Fubon bank staff member to assist you with this.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<\/table>\n

3. What if I lose my TaipeiFubon bank card?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1: Please report to TaipeiFubon Bank at once.<\/span>

Step 2: Apply for a new bank card at any branches in Taipei or Taoyuan.<\/span>
\nPlease take your passport and your ARC card with you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please note<\/strong> that if your parents wire money to you, it’s going to take 3-4\u00a0working days to get the money. Once TaipeiFubon Bank receives the money, the branch will inform you.\u00a0You will need to go to the branch in person and sign your name, so make sure\u00a0the bank has your correct phone numbers. Please bring\u00a0your Passport and Alien Resident Card\u00a0with you to the bank.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. How do I deposit money into my bank account?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

option 1: You need to fill out the deposit form with the date<\/strong>, your account number<\/strong>, amount<\/strong> and your name<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0submit the form to the staff in the bank.<\/span>
