2023.03.31 NEIHU SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT FIELD TRIP

1. Purpose:

The field trip is to deepen exchanges with countries in the New Southbound Policy. Participants will gain and learn about Taiwan’s actual experiences in sewage treatment, waste disposal, resource recycling, circular economy, and related solutions and strategies. By connecting Taiwan’s environmental protection field with international talents, this activity will promote mutual exchange and cooperation in environmental protection.

2.Information:

The Neihu Sewage Treatment Plant was built in 1998 and became operational in 2004 as Taiwan’s first semi-underground sewage treatment facility. It processes sewage from Neihu, Dazhi in Taipei City, and part of Xizhi in New Taipei City. It can adjust sewage flow with the Dihua Sewage Treatment Plant and reduce the cost of sludge treatment. The upper part of the 3.8-hectare plant is planned as a sports park with various facilities and environmental education models, providing opportunities for recreation and enhancing environmental education for the public.

3.Target Audience:

Students studying in engineering colleges at universities in Taiwan and international students from Southeast Asia, South Asia, Australia, and New Zealand who are interested in environmental sustainability.
