1. What are required documents for opening a bank account?
You need to have Passport and Alien Resident Certificate or Record of ID No. in Taiwan to open a bank account at any of the banks in Taiwan. According to Taiwan governmental regulations, opening a banking account requires two valid photo identity cards. A foreign passport holder has to prepare Passport and ARC card or record of ID Number in Taiwan.
2. How to activate my TaipeiFubon bank card?
When you receive the card, you must change the original PIN to a new one in order to activate the bank card. There are two PINs. One is IC (Chip) PIN (6 digits, new PIN can be within 6-12 digits); the other is ATM (Magnetic Strip) PIN (4 digits). You need to change both of these PINs.

YOU MUST KNOW:For security reasons, every IC bank card in Taiwan has a IC chip pin of at least 6 digits to reduce fraud. To activate the function of withdrawing money in other countries, the magnetic strip pin needs to be set to a 4 digit one. Ask a Fubon bank staff member to assist you with this. |

3. What if I lose my TaipeiFubon bank card?
Step 1: Please report to TaipeiFubon Bank at once.

Step 2: Apply for a new bank card at any branches in Taipei or Taoyuan.
Please take your passport and your ARC card with you.

4. How do my parents wire money to me from overseas?
You need to provide the following information to your parents:
a. Beneficiary Name on the account (Correct Full Name): e.g. David Foster
b. Beneficiary A/C Number (branch number + Account number): e.g. 012- 6731- 456789333888
c. The branch name of bank and the address of the bank:

Please note that if your parents wire money to you, it’s going to take 3-4 working days to get the money. Once TaipeiFubon Bank receives the money, the branch will inform you. You will need to go to the branch in person and sign your name, so make sure the bank has your correct phone numbers. Please bring your Passport and Alien Resident Card with you to the bank.
5. How do I deposit money into my bank account?
option 1: You need to fill out the deposit form with the date, your account number, amount and your name and submit the form to the staff in the bank.
option 2: Some ATMs provide cash deposit function.
